A Few Protocols

Ok, a few more things for tonight. Primo: I have learned that you can publish to the blog from google docs. Why is this any more interesting than publishing from the blogger publish interface? Well, a couple of reasons. First, google docs has a richer interface, you can do more with it (and I'm sure there will be nice updates forthcoming). Second, we can collaborate on docs as works-in-progress. This will circumvent the cumbersome info-tracking that one must do if you are trying to build and access knowledge via comment streams. A research piece can remain a document in google docs until it has gained a measure of completeness. Third, I'm sure it won't be long until you can do the same thing from google spreadsheets, which will be nice for data storage, etc. So, now's the time to integrate google docs into your google account (whatever Google is paying me, it's certainly not enough).

Sans-Primo: Before you set a new tag, always check existing tags to see if there are appropriate matches. Not that we can't edit the tags later, but it will make for less headache later. Oh, and if you publish via google docs, you can add tags and titles later. I guess that's maybe too much to ask. Am I writing to anyone? I know know, Andy? Katie? Is this (a research blog) a dumb idea that won't work? Eh, never know till you try I guess.
